There can be no question that humanity gravitates toward drama. Jay Shetty calls it a paradox that, for every step forward, takes us 3 steps back. Our fascination with technology and progress at the cost of environment and human decency can be our end. Or, today, you and I can continue to opt-out of the paradox through meditation and mindfulness. We can first change our own world to keep changing the world around us.
You cannot do anything about what anyone is doing around you. You can only do one thing right now, today. And that is to go within. Meditate. Clear your mind and allow it to reset itself.
Why will this do anything to help the world?
Simply because the moment you stand up, stretch, and greet the day after meditation is the moment you “hit the streets” with the attitude and mindfulness that WILL change the world around you.
The way you see the world is the way the world becomes, more and more. If you see beauty in all things, because you’ve got a meditation practice and your mind is calm and ego is checked, you will have a great effect on those around you. You just will.
